🌟  Action in the PYP

In the Primary Years Program at TASOK, Action is how students bring their learning to life. Rooted in curiosity and compassion, young learners begin to understand their roles as changemakers—at school, at home, and in the wider world.

Action in the PYP can take many forms:

• Participation – working together to create positive change

• Advocacy – using their voice to stand up for what matters

• Social Justice – promoting fairness and inclusion

• Social Entrepreneurship – leading with creativity and purpose

• Lifestyle Choices – making thoughtful decisions that impact others and the environment

Through partnerships with local and global organizations, students engage in authentic, hands-on experiences that build empathy and critical thinking. Guided by the five stages of service learning—investigation, preparation, action, reflection, and demonstration—they develop the skills and mindset to contribute meaningfully to their communities.

👥 Service as Action in the MYP

At TASOK, Service as Action is an essential part of the Middle Years Program. Students explore real-world issues and apply what they learn to take meaningful action in their community.

This year, the focus is on building stronger connections within our school. MYP students are engaging in a unique project that highlights the contributions of TASOK staff—including members of the Atelier, Administrative Team, and Cafeteria. Through interviews and reflective activities, students learn about the personal stories and important roles of these team members, deepening their appreciation for the people who support the daily life of our school.

By fostering empathy, communication, and respect, Service as Action helps students grow as thoughtful, active members of their learning community.

🌱 CAS in the DP

In the Diploma Program at TASOK, Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) is a core component of student life. Over the course of 18 months, students design and engage in meaningful experiences that challenge them to grow personally, collaborate with others, and contribute to their communities.

Through CAS, students explore their interests, step out of their comfort zones, and make a lasting impact—both locally and globally. Projects range from launching school clubs and organizing arts events to volunteering with NGOs or leading sustainability initiatives.

With the guidance of CAS advisors, students reflect regularly on their goals, challenges, and achievements. The result is a well-rounded learning journey that supports the development of balanced, compassionate, and engaged global citizens.

CAS is not just about fulfilling requirements—it’s about discovering who you are and how you want to contribute to the world.
