                                   Ben Marsh, TASOK Director

Boyei Malamu! Bienvenue! Welcome to TASOK – A Legacy of Excellence in Kinshasa

Since 1961, The American School of Kinshasa (TASOK) has been a beacon of excellence in international education, dedicated to fostering a diverse and dynamic learning community in the heart of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). For over six decades, TASOK has prepared students to navigate an ever-changing world with integrity, inclusivity, and a commitment to lifelong learning.

Today, TASOK is home to a vibrant student body of approximately 340 students from over 40 nationalities, ranging from Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12. Our internationally recognized curriculum, anchored in the International Baccalaureate (IB) framework, offers the Primary Years Program (PYP), Middle Years Program (MYP), and Diploma Program (DP). With a strong emphasis on critical thinking, inquiry-based learning, and global citizenship, TASOK ensures that every student is empowered to achieve their highest potential.

TASOK’s commitment to excellence extends beyond the classroom. As an accredited institution by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools (MSA) and a proud member of the Association of International Schools in Africa (AISA), we uphold the highest standards of academic and operational excellence. Our students graduate with a globally respected IB diploma, opening doors to top universities worldwide.

Set on a lush, 42-acre green campus, TASOK provides an environment where learning thrives. The breathtaking beauty of our grounds leaves everyone who  enters and all who have ever been on campus in awe. Nestled in the heart of Kinshasa, this unique and inspiring setting is more than just a backdrop—it is integral to our identity, shaping our school culture and reinforcing our deep connection to nature and community. We consider ourselves incredibly fortunate to be part of this environment, where learning is enriched by the serenity and grandeur of our surroundings.

One of the most distinctive aspects of TASOK is the enduring strength of our community. Generations of alumni have walked our hallways, and many now send their children to experience the same transformative education. Families from diverse backgrounds come together here, united by a shared belief in the power of education to shape responsible global citizens. Whether it is through our annual International Day, student-led initiatives, or the strong partnership between parents and educators, TASOK is a place where everyone belongs.

Our mission is clear: to provide dynamic and individualized educational challenges and opportunities that promote diversity and empower each student to develop into an independent global community leader. This mission comes to life every day in the resilience of our students, the dedication of our faculty, and the unwavering support of our parents.

TASOK is more than a school; it is a legacy, a home, and a community that nurtures future leaders. We invite you to explore all that TASOK has to offer and join us on this extraordinary journey of learning, growth, and discovery.

Warm regards,

Ben Marsh
Director, The American School of Kinshasa
