Safeguarding

At The American School of Kinshasa (TASOK), safeguarding is at the core of our commitment to Excellence, Integrity, and Inclusivity. We believe that education thrives in an environment where students feel safe, valued, and supported. Our mission—to empower students as independent global community leaders—begins with ensuring their safety and well-being.

TASOK upholds the highest standards of child protection, with clear policies, vigilant staff, and a strong culture of care and accountability. All faculty and staff receive regular safeguarding training, equipping them to recognize, prevent, and respond to any concerns. We work closely with parents, students, and external agencies to create a learning environment where every child can thrive without fear of harm or discrimination.

Child safeguarding is not just a policy—it is a shared responsibility. We encourage all members of our community to be active partners in maintaining a safe and supportive school environment. For more information on our policies and procedures, please contact our safeguarding leads or review our Child Protection Policy.

“Schools have a duty of care to protect children and prevent them from harm, and act with a sense of urgency if a child is at risk of harm.”
