swi2 Varsity Swimming Program:

The Torpedoes are TASOK’s competitive swim team. The team concentrates on personal fitness, athleticism, skills improvement, school involvement, team work and enjoyment of all things aquatic.

During the competitive season, members are expected to attend practices three times a week. The practices focus on cardiovascular fitness, sprint training, stroke improvement and training for competition.

While TASOK remains hopeful of having more local competition in the future, the Torpedoes are currently focused on international competitions which are held annually in May at one of the international schools in Southern and/or East Africa. The International School of Uganda hosted the 2010 swim competition. We encourage all team members to work together to fund-raise to allow more members to travel to international competitions and to help with the purchase of team wear. Fundraising events include concession sales at TASOK events, bake sales, car washes and raffles.
