Message to Prospective TASOK Families and Students

The TASOK student body includes over 30 different nationalities from every continent except Antarctica. We accept students starting at age 5 for kindergarten. TASOK is accredited in the United States and uses an American curriculum at all grade levels and in all subject areas. English is the medium of instruction at all grade levels. There are 6 years of primary education, 3 years of middle school (junior secondary), and 4 years of American high school (senior secondary).  At the successful completion of grade 12, TASOK graduates earn a US High School Diploma. TASOK provides strong university preparation and professional advice and support for  all students’ university application process.

Our school year begins in mid August and ends in mid June, following a typical North American school year calendar. The admissions season for TASOK begins in March and grade levels are generally full by the end of May. We urge families interested in our school to open their inquiry about joining TASOK in early March. All admissions paperwork is available on this web site, and the admissions process can be completed online.  Students who have been enrolled in schools where English is not the medium of instruction must complete a language assessment at TASOK. Our school does provide language acquisition support in the form of ESL classes, but all students applying must be assessed before any admissions decision can be made. Students applying at grade 9 or higher must demonstrate advanced to fluent capacity in English in order to be admitted.

We are always glad to answer questions about applying for a place at TASOK. Please contact Evelyne Lukeni, the registrar and admissions assistant, at adminassistant@tasok.cd or contact the superintendent, Dr. Irene Epp, directly at super@tasok.cd or at irene.epp@gmail.com. The superintendent serves as the admissions director at TASOK.

Please note that the name labels for TASOK grade levels use the American labeling system. Below is chart giving the corresponding grades in many African, Asian, or European systems. Most Canadian school systems also use a kindergarten through Grade 12 label system.
