English as a Second Language
The goal of the English as a Second Language class (ESL) class is to help students in the school acquire and develop English language skills in social and academic settings. English competence is critical for success, and expectations for English Students of Other Languages (ESOL) learners are high ! Students are expected to learn academic content through the English language and use English to participate in social settings at school. This process requires that learners speak, read, write and listen using English for their schoolwork.
ESL is offered three times a week for Elementary, Middle and High School students and covers listening, pronunciation, conversation, reading comprehension and writing. Currently, the program services 38 students. |
