Background
Drawing on the strengths of a committed and culturally diverse community, The American School of Kinshasa aims to provide a high quality American primary and secondary education for English-speaking students living in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. TASOK, founded in 1961, has seen many ups and downs with regard to the ever challenging political situation of Zaire/the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Despite the challenges, TASOK has continued its long standing tradition of providing a full high school academic program comparable to other international schools of its size.
